inochi

According to the ancients, Inochi is life, spirit, nature, and the relationship that exists between them. It is something that one receives at the moment of birth – not just from the mother, but from the living universe that it enters. Inochi cannot be removed from or added to existence because It is existence. It is that quality of a thing which is unique: Inochi is both finite and infinite.

Inochi is life, but it is more than a property that makes something self motive and reproductive. It is also that which makes a life unique. It is essence, but it is also that which defines the way in which an individual expresses essence. It is nature, but more – it is the aliveness of the WAY of nature as well.

Modern corporate sciences' lack of regard for Inochi has resulted in horrendous consequences. Senility, cancer, nuclear radiation, poisoned water and food, famine, and genocide, as well as other nightmares, would not be commonplace news stories if we were raised to care for Inochi. The hypnotic comforts of modern technology have deafened people to the cries of the Earth, causing serious problems in the biosphere and other interdependent dimensions. Overpopulation and the abusive demands on Earth by modern culture have created a wound in both humanity and nature that may be beyond healing. People no longer think in terms of the Inochi between themselves and what they do, eat or otherwise allow into their hearts.

The ancients made it very clear that no matter how small the pieces are that an oak tree is cut into, an acorn will not be found. In nature, six sixths of something does not make it whole: its Inochi does.

Inochi is irreplaceable. When active, it becomes the relationship between all beings. When a being dies, Inochi is still experienced based on how it manifested during the Inochi phase of existence, yet it returns to nature to be carried forth into the future. A flower, an animal or a human will only experience its unique life once, yet that unique life is perceived and experienced by many other Inochi beings, and something of that experiencing will go on beyond the disappearance of that being.

Inochi is finite in time, because beings will experience Inochi only while they share life with others. It is finite in space because distance, dimension and difference of form and energy are ways in which we commonly recognize Inochi.

But Inochi is infinite in time: it move through time via DNA, cultural heritage, family tradition, religion and so forth. And it is infinite in space, because all Inochi beings are involved in chemical and psychic/energetic exchanges that include the entire physical universe and multiple non-physical universes as well.

Even the sea and the air, and all stars, which are born, grow, decay and die, are Inochi beings.

To honor ourselves and life, there are three things we must do.

The more grateful we are, the more we have to give, and the more we give the more room we have to accept the energy that becomes available to us. The more energy that becomes available to us the more we can pass into the future and share with all beings. A lion or a rose never holds back or makes excuses.

Our Inochi does not just belong to us, it belongs to the entire web of life with whom we share our existence. It is our responsibility to allow our radiance to manifest for the benefit of all beings, and our duty act with respect towards all life, because such a life creates honor and fulfillment throughout the world in which it shares its inochi.
