Mastering The 9 Ki Stars
Said differently, did you notice that in those zen stories, the cook always becomes the new zen master. He is the one controlling the fire, hence health, readiness, fate. Yet, to many practitioners of zen, "sitting" - so to speak - became the central focus. No-one seems to notice that the actual practise, the meditation, was in keeping to a certain diet and chewing each bite thoroughly, so today, instead, the adept that can sit still best probably will be the next teacher.
Proceeding along this line, this is why Michio Kushi once said: "If you wish to write (receive) your own Dao De Jing, eat what Lao Zi had for dinner".
It is no different for Feng Shui that people meanwhile actually seem to believe is about interior design or Nine Star Ki and Four Pillars of Destiny that people seem to regard as mere astrological systems, which they are not.
Since 1994 I have projected that all in our Qi studies will change in the period 2000-2008. Not only will we see the Chinese Classics translated into English and freely spread over the internet one by one, not only will the food component be restored back into our studies, I have maintained how the entire field of Oriental Metaphysics will see a revolution. Our studies will not be regarded as belief systems any longer, and we will most certainly have a situation in which some of today's "Big Names" in the field of teaching will have been lost for the field. This will be due to new approaches, the abandoning of some of the myths along which the public has learned Feng Shui, Nine Star Ki and Four Pillars of Destiny, where instead the analogies will have made way for actual astronomical explanations. It is just a matter of time therefore, or no student, not even clients, will accept today's teachings. Future practitioners of Feng Shui, Nine Star Ki and Four Pillars will be fairly profoundly trained in astronomy, sun physics, geophysics and other exact sciences.
That would be timely, because all this will then also finally help dissolve the image that most seem to still projected on those ancient masters, whom would be generally still regarded long-haired and bare-footed hippies, hopping around the mountains like true backward folk with no more to offer than silly exclamations.
Instead, the world will once more embrace the science of Earth Changes (please conduct websearches on Precession Cycle, Precession Circle, Pole Shift, Pole reversal, Alpha Draconis, Star Vega, Solar Flare, Sun Spot, GRB, earth magnetosphere, magnetic North) and recognize these ancients to be the scientists of all types that they were, some of them so flawless and so spot-on that they would be today's Nobel Price winners. While most of modern mankind still needs to get to the first clue concerning planetary fate, the Earth Changes, these scholars had documented the exact events and time scales seven or even eight thousand years ago, in regions such as Egypt, the Old Persia and later (by migration) China and Japan, having taken what they found onto the Luopan for all to see, but in easy-for-the-layman- to-chew codes so that we have been meanwhile taught in fairy tales and myths and as a result of this came to believe that those ancient masters must have just been a collection of morons. How far from the truth that is.
In this regard, also reflect on this one as probably neither of us would nowadays find either guts or patience: the apprentice initially seeking training with his master in the mountains, but now he feels kept on a leash as he soon found himself washing dishes instead. Well of course, now and then the master feeds him goodies, but this is nonsense teaching and probably just to keep the man busy and to ensure that he would reveal himself should he then discontinue his training prematurely and start his own school. He will be taught in one after the other Red Herring, in paradox. He will be shown anything, but it will be the finger, rather than the moon. The master would bring him a bucket of water, but the man would remain clueless as to where the water had come from. But then after 10 years, the master finally takes him into the mountains and gives him exercise and genuine teaching.
It is as beautiful as it is simple: the student can be now shown in less than one year what would have otherwise taken many more years - with probably rather superficial result even - for simple reason that all this time his personal magnetism assimilated the water from the locale, he ate and transformed to blood the vegetation that grows around where he lives, he walked the soil with that particular Earth Qi while he also slept under the sky with its particular radiation, so finally his magnetism is ready to receive and channel the teaching, while allowing an immediate physical sensation of truth. Now the ultimate conveyance between Heaven, Man and Earth was established and we have one more true teacher going out into the world to help change fate and destiny in a profound, empathic and noble manner. It is not about knowledge, it is about nobility and compassion.
Originally the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches were used in the Chinese calendar to govern a ten day week. Applications were also to distinguish between agricultural events, like when and what to sow, when to harvest, what crop should or should not be planted for certain years.
The start of each new season was then considered the start of a different Qi to which one needed to adjust one's diet and activity. Therefore, 2, 5 or 8 Earth months indicating the start of a new season. Stars 2,5 and 8 govern the digestive system:
February Spring Begins Wood season around the globe
May Summer Begins Fire season around the globe
August Autumn Begins Metal season around the globe
November Winter Begins Water season around the globe
Stomach, Spleen and Pancreas belong to the digestive system. One could then adjust dietary habits and prepare food according to Yin en Yang, the Five Transformations and apparent season.
Other factors that could be incorporated in a more intelligible food choice would be gender, age, daily activity, life dream, latitude, geography, topography or the weather influencing the choice of food, what to eat, how to grow, select or prepare the food and which colors and tastes to use.
