Stems and Branches

Earthly Branches signify centrifugal Terrestrial forces that originate from earth's rotation as they also govern energy in our meridians. They are linked to the mother and govern the digestive system. Heavenly Stems signify Celestial forces. They are linked to the father and govern the nervous system.

A year in Feng Shui, Four Pillars of Destiny and Nine Star Ki is defined as to start at 4 or 5 February. February is the Tiger month.

The Earthly Branches are more popularly known as the Chinese zodiac animals, but these are Terrestrial forces. Each Earthly Branch contains one, two or three "hidden elements", of which one is always the major God. These hidden elements can be any of the Ten Celestial Stems which are the Five Transformations in either their Yin or Yang form.
